Somatic Release & Integration
Somatic work is an inside-out approach
to working through
emotional blocks, patterns, and traumatic memory
stored in the body
and informed by the narratives
we consciously or subconsciously rehearse
in our day-to-day lives.
While it can be important to understand
how we have been impacted
- and by what -
that is not necessarily the point of this work.
We do not need to revisit
or relive the traumatic narrative.
Somatic work
is not a recaptitulation process,
but a way to be fully present
in our awareness
of the places where our body is
no longer 'at ease'
with the natural processes of life.
My approach invites
present-moment awareness
and somatic translation,
physical release through movement,
vocal frequency,
and integrative emotional processing.
Put simply...
pain, tension, numbness
and physical dissociation are a language.
We first need to stop the world
enough to listen,
translate,
or understand what is being asked of us,
put that intent into motion,
release what is restricting our fluid movement,
and hold ourselves as sacred
in each completed cycle
of release
and integration.
What have you been holding on to?
